How do you talk to yourself, when you are just with you?

Image
We talk so much about empathy and compassion, yet these are the things we often forget to practice with ourselves. We are so unkind to ourselves, often find ourselves saying things that we would never to any person. This leads to unsettling feelings for self. When we do practice kindness, it comes from a place of forced expectations rather than a true reflection of kindness. There is a lot of talk about positive self-talk, but often we end up being judgemental in our effort to be more positive. We are unable to differentiate between the action and the person that I am. My action is not my identity. For example, if we do something silly, we often say “I am so silly”, instead practice making this distinction between you and the action and say “That was so silly”. Or instead of saying, “I can be so detached/socially awkward/isolated, etc”, say, “I am not replying to the messages and emails” or “I am not in the space to go out for this event”. There are so many posts on the inter...

Classroom management school Classroom management refers to the wide variety of skills and techniques that teachers use to keep students organized, orderly, focused, attentive, on task, and academically productive during a class. When classroom-management strategies are executed effectively, teachers minimize the behaviors that impede learning for both individual students and groups of students, while maximizing the behaviors that facilitate or enhance learning. With the more comprehensive view of classrooms becoming popular, forming rules and making the children comply often results in challenges. A more dynamic way of managing a classroom and to make it more engaging is making learning fun, building a positive relationship between the teachers and the students, using innovative ways of learning concepts with activities and new learning material.

Psychotherapy

Image
Psychotherapy/Individual   therapy is a process through which the therapist works one-on-one with the child or adolescent in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental environment. Our goal is to equip the child with coping strategies while dealing with the concern in hand along with equipping the parent/guardian/families with the resources to continue work with the child at home. So, you become your child’s own therapist. With a specialization in Arts Based Therapy , I use various mediums of art – visual art (painting, drawing), music, movement and play! Children respond the best to play and while having fun as it allows them to express themselves. Therapeutic arts based therapy or play happens in a safe, comfortable space where very few rules or limits are imposed on the child, encouraging free expression.
